Train
Santiago is connected to the major cities of Galicia and to Madrid by high-speed trains. Visit A Coruña in just 27 minutes or Vigo in 50 minutes. Take bus line 6A to the intermodal station, just 50 meters from Dream in Santiago.

Pilgrim Welcome Office
This office is affiliated with the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, and this is where you will receive your much-anticipated Compostela. In addition, it offers other services: bike parking, a post office, train and bus information, restrooms for pilgrims, etc.
Tourist Information Office
On Rúa do Vilar, right in the heart of the Old Town, you'll find a spacious office where they provide city maps and answer questions about landmarks, opening hours, and more.
Bicycle and Luggage Storage
At Dream in Santiago, we offer a free luggage storage and bicycle parking service for our guests, and at a very competitive price for non-guests.
Post Office
At Rúa do Franco, 4, Correos offers a service to ship bicycles to the starting point of the route, and once you've finished the route, you can arrange to have the bicycle shipped back to your home.
Historic Center
The city of Santiago boasts a spectacular collection of historic monuments. Its monasteries, churches, palaces, ancient streets, and traditional vernacular buildings, combined with their spiritual and cultural significance, have earned it a place on the World Heritage List. The history of Santiago begins in the year 813, when the bishop of Iria confirmed the discovery of the tomb of St. James the Apostle in a village called San Fiz de Solovio, which would eventually become the city of Santiago de Compostela. The name James (Iacobus in Latin) has given rise to many variations depending on the language: Jacobo, Iago, Yago, Tiago, Diego, Xacobe, Jaime, Jaume, Jacob, Jakob, Jacques, or James. Thus, the city of the Apostle Saint James—or Saint Iago, or Saint Tiago…—came to be known as Santiago. News of the discovery spread rapidly throughout Christendom, and a great basilica was built over the Apostle’s tomb, establishing a steady stream of pilgrims between Santiago and the rest of Europe. Faith, culture, trade, and politics flourished. Santiago de Compostela and its Way became the “Root and Foundation of Europe.”
City of Culture of Galicia
The Cidade da Cultura de Galicia (City of Culture of Galicia) is a spectacular architectural masterpiece. Designed by the renowned architect Peter Eisenman, it stands majestically atop Mount Gaiás, east of Santiago de Compostela, and is a must-see if you visit the city. It houses the Library and the Museum of Galicia and offers a diverse program of exhibitions, concerts, lectures, film screenings, workshops, seminars, and cutting-edge cultural projects... every day of the year.
